Common problems and solutions of carton pasting process
Paste box process is one of the most important links in the production process of paper box, in which the adhesive is an important factor affecting the quality of paper box paste box, but sometimes because of the influence of external reasons, there are some headache problems for users. As a professional adhesive supplier, the author summarized the common problems and solutions in several kinds of paste box process, and shared them with the industry.
Problem 1: the fault caused by the paper itself
(1) Improper handling of paper. Too much filler, talcum powder and other ingredients in the paper can easily lead to too smooth paper surface, which makes it difficult for the adhesive to penetrate, resulting in the phenomenon of powder drop, affecting the paste effect of the carton.
(2) The paper is loose. This situation will cause leakage, resulting in the phenomenon of glue opening of the pasted carton.
Problem 2: the phenomenon of sticking on the surface of the window carton
(1) In the case that the ink on the carton surface is not completely dry, if the adhesive is used to paste the film at its window opening position, in the process of stacking cartons, due to the influence of self weight pressure, it may lead to sticking on the carton surface.
(2) The ink has residual adhesion after drying. When the carton with windows is stacked, the PVC / Pet surface is in direct contact with the ink surface, which may lead to sticking on the carton surface under the action of static electricity.
(3) In case of high temperature and humid weather, the PVC / Pet surface will directly contact with the wet ink surface in the process of stacking. Due to the influence of self weight pressure, the paper box surface may also appear sticking phenomenon.
Problem 3: the pasted cartons are mildewed during storage
Based on the data query and the analysis of our company’s experience in dealing with similar cases, the author found that the phenomenon of box mildew was mostly related to the high temperature and humidity of the storage environment (the optimal temperature for mold propagation was 25-30 ℃. When the humidity exceeded 80%, the mold would rapidly propagate).
In this regard, the author suggests that in the process of operation, ensure that the pasted cartons are completely dry before packaging, and try not to store the pasted cartons in a sealed way, so as to ensure that the storage environment of the cartons is dry and ventilated and avoid excessive humidity.
Problem 4: the paper box with OPP film on the surface appears the phenomenon of glue opening after pasting
Based on the characteristics of water-soluble adhesive, it has a specific range of adaptability to the surface tension of materials. Therefore, in the past customer complaints, there will be such a situation: when the surface tension of OPP film on the surface of carton is lower than 32Mn / m, and the surface tension of dumb film is lower than 35MN / m, the vast majority of pasted cartons will open after a period of time.
In this regard, the author suggests that customers should fully consider the risk of low surface tension materials when selecting materials, and choose materials with high surface tension as far as possible, such as the surface tension of smooth film is higher than 32Mn / m, and that of dumb film is higher than 35MN / m.
Problem 5: the smell of adhesive is big
Most of the adhesives produced by our company are solvent-free (without adding any solvent as auxiliary material). However, as the raw materials used for such adhesives have slight odor, and our company is unable to remove the odor of the raw materials at present, when customers use adhesives or the adhesives are exposed to the air, the odor of the adhesives will volatilize into the air, causing the odor in the air Too large.
In this regard, the author suggests to maintain a good indoor ventilation environment in the process of carton production, so as to effectively avoid the accumulation of odor in the air.
